Clare Local Development Company Community Survey

In addition to our active users, this survey informed us that our wider community would like to use the Community Centre once it becomes a safe, insulated and flexible building. A community space to provide and host facilities and activities such as:

  • a “social hub” for all ages, movie nights
  • tea/coffee/refreshments
  • a place to celebrate our GAA finals
  • night classes, drama, yoga, fitness classes, art, talks
  • workshops and skills training courses such as building professional skills, and sustainable living
  • meeting place for initiatives such as “fit farmers” and men’s shed
  • sporting activities with proper flooring and markings
  • hot desks for local people to start or run their business or to welcome visitors to work remotely during their stay or passing through the locality
  • accessibility of building to ensure inclusion and full participation

We also plan to include ICT infrastructure so it will be available for hot-desking, for people who work from home and local business.

‘We have a highly experienced Events Manager on our committee and when we have completed our renovation project we hope to form a nucleus of committed people who will work with the community to organise new and innovative ways of bringing our community together and sharing our ideas, our talents and our insights’.
